Pests - Building Features - Storage
Avoid: Avoid creating pest habitats inside and outside the building. Contain and isolate food and garbage areas. Use non-attractant lighting.
Block: Use mineral and metal building fabric. Pay attention to seal details. Establish separate HVAC zones for eating areas and workshops. Maintain sanitary perimeters.
Detect: Provide a quarantine room for incoming artifacts.
Respond: Keep all spaces easily accessible to simplify pest control. Provide space for pest control equipment (e.g., freezer, fumigator).
Recover/Treat: Provide a conservation laboratory to treat damaged artifacts.
